Hey Guys!!

So we havnt posted anything for awhile on here so i thought i would give you the official Heads Up!! firstly a BIG Thank You to anyone that came to see us @ the Vans Off The Wall Night last Fri 30th Oct!! We had a blast and met some awesome bands too so thanks for watching and showing us the love!

Alot has been happening in the KD camp!! First off our album has been pressed now and a release date is being sorted as i am typing this blog! We will keep you in the know as soon as a date is confirmed its looking like a jan 2010 release tho!! you will be able to buy one with all ure xmas pennies! we will be planning an album release show once we know the date too so keep your eyes peeled for that!!

Tour Day 1 & 2!! London & Ipswich!!

Hey Guys!

so Weve been on tour now for 2 days now and we have a day off so i thought i would update you on the last few days events!

Day 1: London, South of the Border!

Leaving at about 4:45 wasnt the best of starts to the tour as we were already late and on track to hit all the rush our traffic which is exactly what we did!! eventually we arrived in london but to no surprise binders sat nav couldnt find the Venue at this point me, mark & neil had been dying for a piss for about 30 mins! & speed bumps are not a mans best friend when his bladder is full! :( No!!

We managed to find the venue which was conscealed inside a bar under a completely different name! which is always handy for out of town bands to find!! so we set up played the show was a cool little place with a good few people in there which i couldnt help but think were only there to see the last band but what can ya do! we got a good response and so did Maycomb!

The Maycomb boys found us a place to crash at their friend gemma's house which was awesome so we went brought a load of beer and partied up at hers! watching messed up videos on her laptop! (Two guys 1 Horse is not the 1!!)

The kd boys got to sleep in her basement which was awesome loads of matresses and cushions and after a night of Chris's Wet beer farts smelled rather bad! so we got up showered and left for ipswich not before taking a lovely picture of us all at the van! here it is.....







Day 2: Ipswich, The Rose & Crown!

We got to ipswich for about 5 went and met the Maycomb boys in Spoons for some food and a few beers! then headed over to the venue about 6:30!! We set everything up and chilled outside playing abit of footie in the carpark until the show started! we were on 2nd and the room was full of kids going crazy and singing along to all the new tracks which we were buzzing about & played the best we have for awhile! Good times! Maycomb came on after us and as allways played tight as fook! we sold out of all our merch and the album samplers went down a treat with the kids! £1 for the little beggars!

We are getting some new shirts delivered wednesday morning which sucks for 2moro's date in leicester but we will have them for the rest of the tour!The new tee was designed by Mr Will Blood of Chaos Days who will playing the next couple of dates with us which we are buzzin about!

Leicester 2moro night! bring on the party!!

Acoustic Split News + Tour This Week!!

Hey guys!

Its been a long time since we last posted any sort of update and we have been busy in the studio finishing up our debut album which is entitled "This is all we ever Wanted!"

So a lil news on the Acoustic Split we are doing with our boys in Maycomb!! well the news is both bands are lazy and havnt finished their tracks yet! so we wont have them with us on tour for you lovely people to grab, But they will be released a few weeks after the tour!! We may have some lovely album samplers for u guys to buy though on tour all depending on if we get the tracks mastered in time! i will keep you posted!!

Tour starts on this Friday july 24th! we are so stoked to be touring with our bro's in maycomb and cant wait for friday to roll on!!

Planning For The Future!

OK guys! Thought I'd give you a quick update on what we are going to be up to over the next few months and what you can expect from us. I think I will break this down by month, it makes it easier for me.....

June 2009
We aren't going to be doing anything in the way of shows, but we will however be doing lots behind closed doors.
Number One - We are going to be practicing and putting the finishing touches to the songs we have wrote for our album. The songs are pretty much ready to be recorded however playing them over and over and over again means we save a lot of time in the studio and also means we can adapt the songs a bit and maybe add a bit of sparkle here and there.
Number Two - We are self recording some acoustic tracks (one old, two new) which we are releasing as a free split EP with our boys Maycomb (if you don't know who they are - myspace.com/maycombuk)

July 2009
For the first half of July we won't be doing anything except for getting up every morning and heading straight down to the studio in Worcester recording our debut album. To some this may sound like the most tedious thing in the world, however, to me, this will be the best thing about being in a band. Recording songs in the studio is on par with playing live for me!
After we have finished in the studio the album will get sent off for mastering and we will probably get it back early August. Towards the end of July we will heading out on a short tour with our brothers from other mothers, Maycomb (yes those guys again) this is when that split EP we spoke about will be released as well! YAY! It will be totally free to download and also if you come out to one of the shows on the tour we will be giving out free CD copies.

August 2009
We will be getting back into the swing of playing live again, so if there is anywhere you want us to play, don't be shy, drop us a message and let us know! We will be playing loads!

September 2009
We will shooting a video for the first single off the album (we haven't decided which song it will be yet). Its still in the planning stages at the moment but we have a lot of ideas bouncing around, we may end up needing some folks to come down and be in the video so keep checking back around this time.
Again loads more shows!

Early October 2009
This is when all the crazy stuff starts to happen, a single will be released, a video will be released, pre orders for the album will happen, album artwork will be released, new myspace,etc. All good things!

Late October 2009
Album released!!! Bam!!!

There will be loads of other promotional things happening behind the scenes, but don't want to bore you with that! Plus its a secret, if we told you, we'd have to kill you!

So there you have it, a very quick insight into the KD action plan for the next couple months, I know it all seems so far away but time passes so fast! Well that’s what I tell myself. Keep checking back, there will be daily updates from the studio, and updates about everything else. Also we will be touring and gigging in between all these things happening, so make sure you get out to a show.

Where we are is right where we want to be!!

Hey y'all!!!

I am bored off my face at work so I thought I would write a quick blog to let everyone know about the current situation of KD and what we are up to....

Lets talk about the debut full length shall we?

We are entering the studio on June 28th 2009, that's in no less than 76 days, not that I am counting down the days or anything! We are heading to the lovely town of Worcester to record with our old friend Jim Turner. You may remember Jim from his 4 string skills in Tribute To Nothing (if you don't know who they are, check them out) or his brilliant producing/ engineering techniques on many a UK emo/ pop punk/ hardcore release. We will be residing at his studios for a full two weeks while we try our hands at crafting a masterpiece of an album. Which we planning on releasing sometime during September/October maybe even venturing into early November depending on how quickly we can get everything together, i.e. Artwork, Promotion, Distribution, Mastering, Pressing..... ARGH SOOOO MUCH TO DO!!!!

So what does it sound like you say?

Well... so far we have about 13 songs, as in, in the whole life span of KD we have written about 13 songs together, shit that doesn't sound like a lot does it? And only 9 of which we have agreed are album worthy, so we still have a way to go, suddenly 76 days sounds scary.

Compared to the style of the EP (which is free to download btw) the writing style has kind of gone a little bit further in each direction. Some songs are alot poppier, some are rockier, there are softer parts, heavier parts. I am so excited for people to hear, it is unreal!!

So what else are we up to?

Well we are trying to play as few shows as possible so that we can get some good writing time in! However playing live is like an addiction, it is very hard to suddenly go cold turkey. So we are not some much giving up, just cutting down. We are also thinking it may be nice to keep up this idea of giving away free EPs, so we may, if we manage to sort it out, be recording an acoustic EP with 3 or 4 songs from both the album and EP just to give away free on the myspace/purevolume. What do think, good idea or bad idea? Answers on a postcard please! Not sure when this will happen, maybe in between recording the album and releasing it?

Kyoto Drive - Spotlights & Stars CDep

Kyoto Drive are a young emo-rock band from Birmingham, UK and this EP sounds as good as, or better than, others in its category, like 'Story of the Year' or 'Halifax' maybe. One can feel carried away on the melodies and energy loaded riffs, also the passionate singing, who one listens to as heart blood is pumped straight into every track.
They did not invent a new style maybe, but did make with this successful CD publication the first step to find a label. (Engineer Records).

Recording Demo's update!

So last night we finnished the vocals for the first demo of a song that is going to be on our new record which we are recording in june/july w/ Jim Turner(Waiting Room Studios!)

the song sounds awesome and once we have it mixed it will deffonately be up on our myspace so keep checking back for updates on that!

We are back in the studio 2nite to do some more vocals for the rest of the demo's!
really excited to see how the rest turn out!

Lil Civic Wolverhampton - 14/02/09

Last night we played an awesome show in Wolverhampton @ the lil civic!! We played with a local band called STRANGLE KOJAK!!

The show was SOLD OUT so there was loads of kids there which was awesome! Much love to the sound guy as he did a top job on our sound!

After we packed the van up we found that we had been boxed in by all of the securities cars! And after jokingly saying we would all pick up the cars and move them! One of the security came out shouting his mouth off saying we had dented his car and moved it from the side of the venue! After much arguing our case with this Idiot we ended up getting the police down and they soon moved out the way!!

Thats Right!!! You dont wanna F**K with KD cuz KD will F**KING Kill YOU!!!!

After the show we all went out to a club called the planet and continued to drink the Night away!!

Was a awesome night had by all!! Next show Birmingham, Barfly - March 5th!!!!

What Are We Up To??

Hey y'all!!

Mike told me he made this thing for the 4 of us to use so I thought I'd come try it out! I like it!

So I thought I'd update anyone that cares with the stuff we are doing at the moment......

• We are writing an album of about 10 or 11 tracks, we haven't decided what we are calling it but we are entering the studio on 28th June for 14 staright days with Engineer/ Producer Jim Turner (Tribute To Nothing) to record what we think is going to be a corker! So far we have about 9 or so songs that are contenders for the album but we are going to write non stop until we enter and decide on the final 10/11 the week before we go in! We are playing the songs at shows, so if you are there and you hear a new song you like, tell us!
• We are demoing songs for the album to show the label (Engineer Records) and also to show Jim Turner to give them an idea of what the album is going to be like, we may even post 1 or 2 on our myspace to show you guys!
• We are booking a couple 'long weekend' tours with The Sketch, LYU and are new bestfriends Maycomb (who by the way are currently recording some damn fine demos which I had a sneeky peak of the other night)
• We are having some nice promo pictures taken tonight so they should be on our myspace within a week or two.

BLOGGER VIRGINS!!! + MAYCOMB DATES!

HEY EVERYONE!!

SO THIS IS OUR VERY FIRST BLOG POST!!

ALOT HAS HAPPENED RECENTLY AND WE HAVE PLAYED SOME AWESOME SHOWS!! INCLUDING TWO WITH OUR BOYS MAYCOMB!!

SUNDAY 08TH FEB:- BRIDLINGTON!

THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME IN BRIDLINGTON & IT DEFFONATLEY WONT BE OUR LAST! WE GOT TO THE VENUE AROUND 5PM! IT WAS A PUB CALLED THE QUEENS ......... AND THE ROOM @ THE BACK WAS SMALL BUT HAD AN AWESOME VIBE TO IT! MAYCOMB ARRIVED AT LIKE 6ISH AND WE SORTED OUT OUR GEAR AND THE RIDER WHICH WAS A COUPLE OF CRATES OF CARLSBERG WHICH MADE ME HAPPY! :)
WE PLAYED AROUND 9PM AND THE KIDS WENT ABSOLUTELY MENTAL! WINDMILLING AND TWO STEPPING THERE WAY THROUGH EVERY SONG WHICH WAS CRAZY AS THAT NEVER HAPPENS AT OUR SHOWS LOL! WE ALSO SAW QUITE A FEW PEOPLE SINGING WHICH MADE US FEEL REAL WELCOME!
MAYCOMB WERE ON AFTER US AND KILLED IT AS ALLWAYS AGAIN THE KIDS WENT MENTAL AND I FILMED SOME OF THERE SET FOR THEM WHICH YOU WILL SEE SOON!
AT THE END OF THE NIGHT MAYCOMB REALISED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THERE MERCH MONEY WHICH HAD OBVIOUSLY BEEN STOLEN WHICH BROUGHT A DOWNER ON THE WHOLE SHOW, WHICH SUCKED! BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THEY HAVE GOT THE MONEY BACK SO ALLS WELL! WE WILL SEE U ALL IN BRIDLINGTON VERY SOON!

MONDAY 9TH FEB: FLAPPER, BIRMINGHAM!

THE NEXT DAY WE WAS HOME IN BIRMINGHAM! WE PLAYED AT THE FLAPPER (A AWESOME VENUE IN BRUM!!)
THIS SHOW WAS ESPECIALLY GOOD AS WE HAD OUR LABEL MATES THE SKETCH PLAYING WHICH WE COULDNT WAIT TO SEE AGAIN!! DOORS OPENED AT 8PM & THE SKETCH WERE ON STAGE BY 8:10 THEY WERE AWESOME & HAD THE ROOM FILLED FOR THERE SET!! AFTER THEM WAS A LOCAL BAND CALLED CHE' WHO WERE AMAZING FEMALE VOCALIST WITH AN AWESOME VOICE! CHECK EM OUT AT WWW.MYSPACE.COM/CHEMUSIC
OUR BOYS IN MAYCOMB WERE ON NEXT AND AGAIN TEARED UP THE STAGE! AS ALLWAYS GOING DOWN REALLY WELL!
WE DECIDED TO HEADLINE THIS SHOW AS IT WAS THE HOMETOWN ONE! WE DIDNT GET ON STAGE TIL 10:20 WHICH WAS CRAP BUT THE ROOM WAS STILL FULL AND WE GOT A GREAT RECEPTION EVEN THO I DIDNT THINK I PLAYED VERY WELL BUT ALLS GOOD! WE ALSO MANAGED TO SELL A T-SHIRT BEFORE WE EVEN PLAYED WHICH WAS PROMISING!
AFTER THE SHOW US AND THE MAYCOMB BOYS HAD A GROUP PHOTO TAKEN WHICH IS ON OUR MYSPACE PAGES ATM!!

WE SHOULD BE TOURING WITH THOSE BOYS TOWARDS THE SUMMER SO KEEP CHECKING BACK FOR TOUR DATES!
